Indian red lentil dal

Ingredients

Coconut milk
Coconut milk (Kokosmilch Edeka Bio) 400 Can
Red lentils
Red lentils (Korodrogerie) 250 Portion
Tomatoes in pieces with garlic
Tomatoes in pieces with garlic (Edeka Bio) 400 Can
Onion
Onion (Basis) 80 Whole (medium)
Olive oil
Olive oil (Basis) 10 Tablespoon

Preparation

  1. 1

    Fry the finely chopped onions in oil until translucent. Then add the spices (curry, ginger, paprika powder, cinnamon)

    Rinse the lentils and add to the onions with the chopped tomatoes. Simmer with the coconut milk for approx. 10 mins. until the lentils are cooked.

    Season and garnish as desired (sesame seeds, coriander, soy sauce, pepper, salt) Tastes best served with naan or rice
